Brain, child development and play activities for parents or caregivers
The brain is an extraordinary problem-solving machine, with 80-100 billion neurons and ten times as many supporting cells. These cells are arranged in a way that creates a complex structure with various components. The brain is divided into multiple regions, including the left and right hemispheres and upper and lower parts. This organ enables humans to perform functions that are unique among species. It is highly complex, with the distinct ability to absorb, store, and process experiences passed down through generations.
At birth, a child has millions of neurons, but it is the connections between these cells that drive brain function. Different brain areas are responsible for various functions such as movement, language, and emotions. Parents and caregivers can enhance these connections by providing positive experiences. The early years of a child's life are particularly critical, as they can significantly influence behavior and development throughout school years and beyond.
